    COLUMBUS, Miss. – For the last 11 years, Columbus First United Methodist Church has partnered with Rise Against Hunger, formerly known as Stop Hunger Now, to host food packing events to feed those in need all over the world.

    COLUMBUS, Miss. – With just two games left in the 2017 season, the Mississippi University for Women’s soccer team is looking to close that season with back-to-back wins on its home field. The Owls first of the two matches will be Sunday, Oct. 22 when they host Oakwood University at 2 p.m.

    JACKSON, Miss. – The Owls volleyball team traveled to Jackson, Miss. to take on LeTourneau University and Belhaven University in a tri-match competition at Charles R. Rugs Arena. The Owls were unsuccessful on the road, falling 3-0 (11-25, 4-25, 12-25) to LeTourneau and 3-0 (16-25, 15-25, 17-25) to Belhaven.

    CLINTON, Miss. - The Owls women’s cross country team competed in its last meet of the season at the 2017 Mississippi College Invitational. During the 5K run, the Owls placed 13th out of 16 at Choctaw Trails in Clinton, Miss.

    HANCEVILLE, Ala. - The Owls volleyball team was unable to pick up a win in the first day of the Wallace State Volleyball Tournament on Friday, Oct. 13. The Owls played hard defensively but where unable to find ground offensively, falling 3-0 (18-25, 16-25, 11-25) to Faulkner State Community College and 3-0 (10-25, 9-25, 6-25) against Vincennes University.

    COLUMBUS, Miss. – The close of the 2017 men’s soccer season is rapidly approaching and with just three games left in the regular season, the Owls men’s soccer team will be spending the last part of the season on its home field. The first of these home games will be Saturday, Oct. 14 when the Owls host Belhaven University at Sprint Mart Field in the Columbus Soccer Complex.

    SELMA, Ala. – The Owls men’s soccer team lost a hard fought battle against Concordia College – Alabama on Wednesday, Oct. 11. The W put up a great defensive front against the Hornets in its last road match of the season but were unable to take advantage of offensive opportunities and fell 4-2.
  • Volleyball to Participate in Wallace State Tournament

    COLUMBUS, Miss. – After a disappointing weekend at home, the Mississippi University for Women volleyball team looks to bounce back at the Wallace State Volleyball tournament on Friday, Oct. 13 – Saturday, Oct. 14. During the two-day tournament, the Owls (5-14) will face Faulkner State Community College, Vincennes University, Catawba Valley Community College, and the host school Wallace State Community College.

    COLUMBUS, Miss. – The Mississippi University for Women men’s soccer team will be back on the road for midweek action as the travel to Selma, Ala. to face Concordia College. The Owls (3-7-2) will face the Hornets (8-3), a USCAA sister institution, for the second time this season on Wednesday, Oct. 10.

    COLUMBUS, Miss. – The Mississippi University for Women volleyball team was unable to pick-up a win in its third home tri-match of the season. The Owls, now 5-14, fell 3-0 (11-25, 9-25, 15-25) against Loyola University – New Orleans and 3-0 (16-25, 18-25, 9-25) to Fisk University on Sunday, Oct. 8.
  • Soccer Records 2-2 Draw at Johnson

    KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Owls men’s soccer team found a 2-2 draw at Johnson University on Saturday, Oct. 7. Despite a well-played second half by both teams, the host school was not interested in overtime play. The tie was called at the end of regulation.

    CLINTON, Miss. – The Mississippi University for Women cross country team competed in its first 6K run of the season at the Mississippi College Watson Ford Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 7. The Owls were pretty steady in their pace to finish 7th with an average time of 36:31.89.

    FAYETTEVILLE, Miss. – The third time was not the charm for the Mississippi University for Women volleyball team, falling 3-1 to Bevill State in the two teams third match-up of the season. The Owls worked hard against the Bears but were unable to take the win.

    POWELL, Tenn. - The MUW soccer team made light work of the Crown College of the Bible on Friday, Oct. 6. The Owls dominated the scoring effort to defeat the Crown, 5-1 and improve on the season 3-7-1.

    COLUMBUS, Miss. - The MUW men’s soccer team was unable to step away from Sunday’s match with a win, falling 5-2 to Itawamba Community College at Sprint Mart Field. The Owls put up a great effort against the Indians but several missed opportunities and fouls proved to be their downfall.
  • Cross Country Finishes 20th at the JSU Foothills Invitational

    JACKSONVILLE, Ala. – The Mississippi University for Women cross country team placed 20th at the 12th Annual JSU Foothills Cross Country Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 30. The Owls second 5K run of the season took place at the Oxford Lake and Recreation Center. Competing against 30 team, 21 of which were in the non-Division I category, the Owls recorded 588 total points with a total time of 2:28:55.70.
