Four Owls Made USCAA Soccer All-American Teams

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA - The USCAA has announced its All-American, National All-Academic, and individual End of the Year award winners for women's soccer division 1 and 2. Four Owls women's soccer players were named to All-American teams.

The Owls women's basketball team will travel to Denver, Colo. to participate in the Johnson and Wales Tournament. The W will take on Johnson and Wales on Friday, Nov. 9 at 6 p.m. CDT/ 5 p.m. MDT and Nebraska Wesleyan at 4 p.m. CDT / 3 p.m. MDT. Tougaloo Holds Off Owls in Exhibition Play, 94-65

COLUMBUS, Miss. – The Owls men’s basketball team fell short in its first outing during its inaugural season on the court. The W took on Tougaloo College in an exhibition game on Saturday, Nov. 3 but struggled to make the grade against the NAIA opponent to fall 94-65 in its first offering.

Volleyball Closes Season with Senior and Faculty/Staff Day

COLUMBUS, Miss. – The Owls women’s volleyball team honored senior Savannah Thomas and MUW Faculty and Staff during its final match of the 2018 season. In front of a home crowd, The W took on Lane College for the second time this year. In the first outing, the Owls defeated the Dragons 3-0 on the road but was unable to repeat the feat in Saturday’s match. The W fell 3-0 (19-25, 22-25, 17-25) on Saturday, Nov. 3 to close the season 5-22.

Women's Basketball Prepare for Season with Exhibition Game

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The W women’s basketball team prepared for its return to the court after a 16-year hiatus with an exhibition match against Philander Smith College on Thursday, Nov. 1. The Owls did what they could against an already established team but was unable to get passed the Panthers defense in the 58-80 loss.

Athlete of the Month

Brandon Walker Men's Golf COLUMBUS, Miss. – The Owls Athletic staff has selected men’s golf player Brandon Walker as the Renasant Bank Athlete of the Month. The junior business administration major received All-Academic Team honors for a GPA greater than 3.5. He has led his team in 3 out of 4 tournaments, playing his best two rounds at the USCAA National Championship with an overall score of 144. For his effort, the Vardaman, Miss. native placed sixth in the tournament was named to the All-Tournament First Team.
