LAGRANGE, Ga. – The Owls men's soccer team falls 0-2 to LaGrange College in its second outing of the season on Saturday, Sept. 2.
The Owls started off slow and were unable to find their momentum after a LaGrange early goal.
"Our men played a tough opponent for the second straight day," said head soccer coach Tim Gould. "We allowed a goal less than two minutes into the match which took away the momentum we had built from Saturday's match. Despite trailing 2-0 at the half, we competed until the end and continued to improve."
As a team, the Owls recorded five shots with three on goal. Sess Means led his team with three shots and two shots on goal. "Sess Means played really well for us despite logging a lot of minutes over two days," continued Gould.
Defensively, John McGee and Selvin Lopez played 45 minutes each at the goal keeper position. Lopez, freshman from Memphis, Tenn., led the defense with four saves a no goals allowed. His saves in the second half of the match really kept the Owls in the game.
The Owls will bring the game home next week when they take on Concordia College – Alabama on Wednesday, Sept. 6. Come out and support The W soccer as it holds its 2017 home opener.
