Men's Soccer Prepares for the Battle Against Millsaps

COLUMBUS, Miss. – The men's soccer team will have the opportunity to face NCAA Division III opponent Millsaps College on Tuesday, Sept. 11 as the first home match of the season.

LaRico Lewis, a junior forward, leads the Owls offense and scored the first goal of the season. The Douglasvillle, Ga native played and started in the two matches to record one goal and six shots. 

Defensively, John McGee and Jakob Williams each spent a match in front of the goal. McGee played the entire 90 minutes as keeper in The W's 2-0 shutout over Blackburn for one save. Williams also played the entire match versus Berea to record five saves for a .714 save percentage.

The Owls match against Millsaps College is set to begin at 5 p.m at the Columbus Soccer Complex when they host the inaugural Military and First Responders Appreciation Game. Come to the game wearing red, white, and blue to show your support for those who serve our country.
