SEWANEE, Tenn. – The Owls men's soccer team found a 1-1 draw at Sewanee on Tuesday, Oct. 2. Despite a well-played second half by both teams, neither team was able to come out on top in the double overtime as tie was called at its conclusion.
In the second half, both teams had opportunities to close the match but neither were successful.
The Tigers and the Owls defense held strong in the first half of the game. Goalkeepers and defenders kept the game scoreless up until the second half.
The Owls ended the draw with a goal 71:50 into the match. Nikola Srzic scored for The W off a free kick 40- yards out.
Sewanee answered with a goal of its own seven minutes later to force the tie.
John McGee, a sophomore keeper from Troy, Ill., guarded the goal for The W the entire match. McGee allowed one goal with 10 saves.
The Owls will be back in action Sunday, Oct. 7 when they host LaGrange College. Kick-off is scheduled for 12 p.m.
