  • Softball Season Ends with 3-2 Loss Versus NHTI

    DuBois, Penn. – The W softball team ends its season in the fourth round of the USCAA Small College World Series on Wednesday, May 16. The Owls battled hard against the No. 4 seeded NHTI but they were unable to overcome the fatigue of a long week. The Owls fell 3-2 after a NHTI seventh-inning rally.

    DUBOIS, Penn. – The Owls softball team proved that it was the team to watch with a 6-2 victory over Penn State University – Schuylkill in the third round of the USCAA Small College World Series. With Tuesday’s success, The W moves on to the elimination round semi-finals.
  • Hopper Delivers 11 Strikeouts in Owls First World Series Appearance

    DUBOIS, Penn. – Senior pitcher Cara Hopper showed her experience and skill on the mound to deliver 11 strikeouts with one hit-against in the Owls 7-0 victory over Penn State – Beaver in game one of the USCAA Small College World Series. The Steen, Miss. pitched the best seven innings of her career to improve to 7-6 on the season.
  • Owls Fall 5-4 to Defending World Series Champions in Game Two

    DUBOIS, Penn. – The Owls softball team grabbed an early lead against defending USCAA Small College World Series champions St. Mary of the Woods College in the second round of the tournament. The W battled hard but struggled to prevent an opponent rally falling 5-4.
  • Owls Receive USCAA All-American and All-Academic Honors

    DUBOIS, Penn. – The Owls baseball and softball teams had several members recognized for their efforts on and off the field during the 2018 Small College World Series Banquet on Sunday, May 13. As a part of the event, the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) recognized the 2018 All-Academic Team and the All-American Teams.
  • Softball Ranks 7th Nationally for USCAA Small College World Series Bid

    COLUMBUS, Miss. – The Owls softball season will continue as the team was selected to compete in the United State Collegiate Athletic Association Small College World Series in DuBois, Penn during the 2018 USCAA Softball Selection Show. The W worked hard during this comeback year to end the regular season 19-17 and ranking 7th nationally among USCAA institutions.
  • Softball Closes Regular Season with a Doubleheader Split Against Judson

    COLUMBUS, Miss. – The Owls softball team closes the regular season in a doubleheader split with Judson College on Wednesday, April 18. The Owls struggled to get the scoring game going to fall 1-0 in game one but took game two 4-3 in a late inning comeback. The W moves to 19-17 on the season and is currently ranked 8th in the USCAA Coaches Poll.

    COLUMBUS, Miss. – The Owls softball team split the day with Stillman College, picking up game one 6-4 and dropping game two 5-2. The W moves to 18-16 on the season as the near the last games of the regular season.

    COLUMBUS, Miss. – The Owls softball team went head-to-head with Talladega College on Monday, March 26. In the doubleheader match-up, The W split with the Tornadoes to drop game one 6-1 but pulled it together in game two for the 8-7 victory.

    COLUMBUS, Miss. – The Owls softball team blanks Concordia College – Alabama in a homecoming doubleheader on Saturday, March 24. The W defeated the Hornets 14-0 in the first game and followed with a 13-0 victory in the second.

    COLUMBUS, Miss. – The W softball team was unable to get past in-state foe William Carey University on Tuesday, March 20 at Don Usher Field to drop both games of the doubleheader. The Owls struggled against the Crusader defense and was unable to stop their offense to fall 8-1 in game one and 9-1 in game two.

    COLUMBUS, Miss. – The Owls softball team will host William Carey University on Tuesday, March 20 in a 4 p.m. doubleheader at Don Usher Softball Field. The W enters Tuesday’s match 12-10 while the Crusaders are currently 14-4.

The W will take on South Wesleyan University in doubleheader action on Monday, Converse College in a four game series on Tuesday and Wednesday, and conclude their week on Thursday in a doubleheader at Piedmont College.

    RALEIGH, N.C. – The Mississippi University for Women’s softball team ended its time at the Grand Slam Triangle Classic on a high note. The Owls prevented the tournament shutout, defeating Randolph College 4-3 and Methodist University 10-3.

    RALEIGH, N.C. – The Mississippi University for Women’s softball team played hard on day one of the Triangle Classic Softball tournament, but the Owls were unable to catch a victory falling 1-0 to William Peace University in an eight-inning game one and 12-9 to North Carolina Wesleyan College.
  • Softball Stuns Concordia, 19-3, 10-2

    SELMA, Ala. – The Mississippi University for Women’s softball team traveled to Selma, Ala. to take on Concordia College – Alabama in its first road games of the season. In a high scoring doubleheader, the Owls stunned the Hornets 19-3 and 10-2 to advance to 5-1 on the season and to improve to a four-game winning streak.

    COLUMBUS, Miss. – Madison Scoggin and Ciara Steward picked up their first wins on the mound to help lead their team in a doubleheader sweep over Huntingdon College. The Owls advance to 3-1 on the season, defeating the Hawks 9-1 and 10-2 on Sunday, Feb. 18 at Don Usher Field.
