Women's Soccer Prepares to Take on Valley State

ITTA BENA, Miss. – The Owls women's soccer team will have the opportunity to battle Mississippi Valley State, a NCAA DI Opponent, on Friday, Sept. 14. The Owls (0-5-0) will face the Devils (1-4-1) in hopes of collecting their first victory of the year. 

The Owls offense is led by Nesbit, Miss. native Gabby Gross. Gross leads the team in shots with five shots with three on goal in five match appearances.

Morgan Dennis also aids the Owls offense to also collect three shots on goal. As a team, the Owls have tallied 27 shots with 14 on goal for a .519 shot on goal percentage. 

On defense, goalkeeper Sarah Gilliland played all five games in their entirety. The Brandon, Miss native has recorded 29 saves for a .784 save percentage and has been named USCAA Goalkeeper of the Week twice for her efforts.

Kick-off for Friday's match is set for 7 p.m.
