Soccer Dominates Oakwood in 11-0 Victory

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - The Owls women's soccer team dominated Oakwood University on Tuesday, Oct. 23 to gain its third win of the 2018 season. The W put up a tremendous effort on the field and was rewarded with a 11-0 victory over the Ambassadors.

The Owls gained a swift offensive advantage just 10:31 into the first half. Junior forward Hannah Heustess landed a shot pass the Ambassador goalkeeper to record the first goal of the match.

The W played tremendously well offensively. Freshman forward Dakota Stokes led the scoring effort with two goals and senior Gabby Gross led the team with the most attempts with eight shots, five on-goal, and one goal scored.

Other Owls contributing to the effort were Caroline Grafe, Melissa Pacillo, Briann Benson, Irene Mondragon, Sarah Walden, and Carmin Childs who each scored one goal each.

The Owls will travel to Madisonville, Tenn. on Saturday, Oct. 27 to compete against Hiwassee University. Kick-off is set for 11 a.m.
