FAYETTEVILLE, Miss. – The third time was not the charm for the Mississippi University for Women volleyball team, falling 3-1 to Bevill State in the two teams third match-up of the season. The Owls worked hard against the Bears but were unable to take the win.

"It's disappointing that we could not come out on top today, but this has given us yet another day's experience and insight into what we need to work on going into tomorrow's matches," stated Roxanne Hernandez, head women's volleyball coach. "I am pleased with those people that came off the bench and gave some relief to our starters, especially Savannah. We showed some solid defense today and our setters made some good decisions. Overall, we fought back more than we would have in the beginning of the season. Now, we just need to tie it altogether back at our home gym tomorrow."

Today's match was filed under exhibition and will not affect the Owls overall record. The W will go into tomorrow's home tri-match 5-12 on the season.

The Owls will face Loyola University – New Orleans and Fisk University on Sunday, Oct. 8. MUW will take Loyola at 12 p.m. and close the day against Fisk at 4 p.m.
