Box Score SOMERSET, Ky. – The Owls men's basketball team improves to 7-10 with a 99-86 victory over Campbellsville University – Somerset on Saturday afternoon.
Tavonta Jones led The W offense with a career-high 32 points and 12 rebounds for a double-double.
Playing without leading scorer
Keith Harris, the Owls found themselves down 23-7 with 13:21 left in the first half of play. The W adjusted its defense and offense and was able to chip away at the Tigers lead to enter halftime trailing by three, 47-43.
In the second half, the two teams exchanged scoring, tying often and keeping the score tight. With 16:18 left in the game, Zeradjanin hit a three-point jumper to give The W its first lead of the game, 54-53. The Owls kept pressing and was able to go on a scoring run to pull ahead and close the game, 99-86.
The Owls return to action on Thursday, Jan. 23 when they host Champion Christian inside of Emma 'Ody' Pohl Gymnasium. Tipoff is set for 5 p.m.
