Jones Scores Career-High 32 Points in 99-86 Victory Over Campbellsville

SOMERSET, Ky. – The Owls men's basketball team improves to 7-10 with a 99-86 victory over Campbellsville University – Somerset on Saturday afternoon. Tavonta Jones led The W offense with a career-high 32 points and 12 rebounds for a double-double.
 
The Owls had five other players with double-digit points in the highest scoring game in program history. Tre Pinkston had 16, Milos Zeradjanin had 15, Brien Kimmons had 14, and Jonte Moultrie and Detavious Clark had 10 points each. 
 
Playing without leading scorer Keith Harris, the Owls found themselves down 23-7 with 13:21 left in the first half of play. The W adjusted its defense and offense and was able to chip away at the Tigers lead to enter halftime trailing by three, 47-43.
 
In the second half, the two teams exchanged scoring, tying often and keeping the score tight. With 16:18 left in the game, Zeradjanin hit a three-point jumper to give The W its first lead of the game, 54-53. The Owls kept pressing and was able to go on a scoring run to pull ahead and close the game, 99-86.
 
The Owls return to action on Thursday, Jan. 23 when they host Champion Christian inside of Emma 'Ody' Pohl Gymnasium. Tipoff is set for 5 p.m.
