Men's Basketball Falls at Lyon College, 77-55

BATESVILLE, Ark. – The Owls men's basketball run to the USCAA National Basketball Championship Tournament ended last night in a 77-55 loss at Lyon College in Batesville, Ark. The W played hard, but a slow start cost them the game inside Becknell Gymnasium.

Senior guard Tavonta Jones led the Owls offense with 15 points and sophomore guard Milos Zeradjanin led in rebounding with six. Keith Harris, a Starkville, Miss. native, added 13 points to the scoreboard to round out double-digit scoring for The W.

As a team, the Owls went 18-for-56 (32.1 percent) from the field, 6-for-25 (24.0 percent) in three-point range, and 13-for-16 (81.3 percent) at the free-throw line. The Lion made 25-of-54 (46.3 percent) from the floor, 9-of-24 (37.5 percent) beyond the arc, and 18-of-22 (81.8 percent) at the line.

The Owls will be back in action this weekend when the host Campbellsville University – Somerset on Saturday, Feb. 8 at 2 p.m.
