JACKSON, Miss. – With over two weeks between today's game and the last time the Owls competed, The W men's basketball team could not overcome a slow start to defeat Belhaven University. The Owls fell 90-78 in their closing game of the 2021 season.

Dariun Doss led the team in rebounds with eight. Doss also assist in scoring to contribute 10 points to the board to tie
JaQuan Hines and trail
Quintiyus Causey who added 11.
The Blazers outrebounded the Owls 42-36, with only five offensive rebounds for four second-chance points. Of the Owls 36 rebounds, 11 were offensive to give The W 12 second-chance points.
The W committed fewer turnovers than the Blazers, with 12 miscues to Belhaven's 18. The Owls gained 17 points off turnovers while Belhaven only saw seven.
As a team, The W shot 41.7 percent from the field, including 20.8 percent in the three-point range. Belhaven shot 47.3 percent from the field, including 25.9 percent in the three-point range. The Blazers had better success at the free-throw line with 81.6 percent of baskets made.
