Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 COLUMBUS, Miss. – Mississippi University for Women's tennis teams were both defeated by visiting Freed-Hardeman University. The women dropped an 8-1 decision, and the men were topped, 9-0.
 
Freshman Maggie Etheridge had the lone win for either team. Etheridge defeated the Lions' Elise Krunan at No. 2 singles in straight sets by scores of 6-3, 6-2.
 
Karen Calzadilla and Kelis Griffin – at Nos. 3 and 6 singles, respectively – both battled strong. F-HU's Hannah Pearce out-dueled Calzadilla, 6-4, 6-2. Griffin lost her first set, 6-1, and came back strong in second, despite losing 6-4.
 
On the men's side, a very strong Lions' lineup flexed its muscle versus the Owls, losing just three games in total.
 
The Owl teams will host LaGrange College on Saturday morning at 11 a.m. at the Garrett Courts.
