Etheridge’s streak hits 7 in loss to Belhaven

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 COLUMBUS, Miss. – The Mississippi University for Women tennis teams lost to Belhaven University for the second time in a week in the return matches at the Garrett Courts. The Owl women lost, 5-4, while the men were blanked, 9-0.
 
Freshman Maggie Etheridge continued her hot streak, winning her seventh-consecutive singles match. Etheridge topped the Blazers Lily Grace at No. 3 singles in a epic match. Grace won the first set, 6-2, but Etheridge clawed back to take set two, 6-3. In the third set, Etheridge would prevail in an elongated 14-12 decision.
 
The Owls other contested match point came from Sarah Kackley at No. 2 singles. Kackley defeated BU's Evey Moore in straight sets, 6-1, 6-3.
 
The W received forfeit points at No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles, as well.
 
The strong Belhaven squad dominated the men's match once again. No. 6 singles player Nolan Owens won the most games, taking fie from his Blazer foe in a 6-2, 6-3 loss.
