CARROLLTON, Ga. – Mississippi University for Women men's track and field standout
Allen Fields came home with a pair of school records, as the squad competed at the University of West Georgia Legends Invitational. There were no team scores.
Fields (Saltillo, Mississippi), a freshman, broke teammate
Dedrick Gates' record in the 400-meter hurdles. Fields had a time of 1:02.71 minutes, besting Gates' previous time of 1:04.31.
In the 110-meter high hurdles, Fields established the record by be9ng the first MUW athlete to ever attempt the race. He ha a clocking of 18.41 seconds.
In the women's 200 meters,
Vonisha Towns lowered her own record in the race. At the UWG meet, Towns had a time of 26.06 seconds (besting her 26.09 set earlier this season).
Freshman
Ty'Kerria Young was the only Owls' individual to earn a top-10 placement. Young was ninth in the women's triple jump at 10.98 meters.
