BELLEVILLE, Ill. – The W women's junior
Ashley Estabrook (Truckee, Calif./Truckee H.S.) and men's graduate student
Zach Riley (Hernando, Miss./DeSoto Central H.S.) have been selected as the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) Golf Players of the Week in their respective genders, for the period of March 10-16, it was announced by the league office.
It marks the second time that Estabrook has earned the accolade, also receiving the women's POTW honor once in the fall portion (September 22-28, 2024) of the 2024-25 season.
At the FST Pinecrest Invitational on March 10-11 - hosted by LeTourneau University in Longview, Texas (Pinecrest C.C.) - Estabrook garnered a top-10 finish in a strong field. Of the eight players finishing above her, four were from NCAA Division II University of Texas-Dallas and three were from host LeTourneau.
Estabrook carded rounds of 85-84=169 for her 36 holes at the two-day event. It was her second top-10 finish this season, also placing seventh at the Scots Invitational (Lyon College) in the fall.
In nine total rounds played this year, Estabrook has an adjusted scoring average of 87.3. Her performance at Pinecrest was her best back-to-back rounds of 2024-25, thus far.
Riley paced The W squad to a tie for third place at the 12-team FST Pinecrest Invitational in the men's competition. Riley carded rounds of 74-74-71=219 for his 54-hole score, finishing in 11th place out of the 80-golfer field. He posted a total of 13 birdies in the tourney.
In 15 total rounds played in 2024-25, Riley has an adjusted stroke average of 73.4 and is ranked No. 23 in the region.
As a team, the Owls are ranked No. 35 in the nation for NCAA Division III. At the Pinecrest event, only host LeTourneau (No. 8 in NCAA Division III) and NCAA Division II school UT-Dallas finished ahead of MUW.
