Pick 6: Huguley earns SLIAC men’s hoops Player of the Week once more

COLUMBUS, Miss. – For the sixth time in the 2025-26 season, The W's Tray Huguley (Saks, Ala.) has been elected as the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) men's basketball Player of the Week, it was announced by the league office. The award, the final honor of the current season, covered games between February 16-22, during which Huguley led the Owls to a 3-0 record.
 
Chief among those victories was Saturday's 20-point (80-60) upset of SLIAC leader – and previously unbeaten in conference – Webster University in Pohl Gym. Huguley had game-leading totals with 23 points, 11 rebounds, and 4 blocks, versus the Gorloks.
 
Huguley tallied 20-plus points in all three games last week, He averaged a double-double of 22.3 points and 11.3 rebounds per game, all while shooting 64 percent from the field. Huguley averaged 2.3 assists and 2.0 blocks per game, as well.
 
The sophomore Huguley had two double-double games last week, now giving him an on-going school season record of 16 this year. He has also scored in double figures in all of his 23 games played, 16 in which he has scored 20 or more points (including a school-record 51 points versus Greenville).
 
Huguley and the No. 2-seeded Owls will next play in the SLIAC semi-finals this coming Thursday (Feb. 26/5:30 p.m.) in St. Louis, Missouri (hosted by No. 1-seed Webster).
