HAMMOND, La. – The W track and field posted four new school records on Friday at the Southeastern Louisiana University Strawberry Relays. The Owls' men' team finished fifth and the women' squad was eighth.
In the women's discus competition,
Arie'Onna McCollum bettered her own school record. McCollum had a toss of 37.17 meters, outdistancing her previous career best of 35.34m set in 2025. She was seventh in the discus, seventh in the shot put (just behind teammate
Brooklyn Kelley in sixth place), and fourth in the javelin (32.29m) at SLU.
MUW's men produced three record efforts, including in the men's discus, where sophomore
Noel Kellum extended his own mark to 40.84 meters and finished ninth. Kellum had set the previous record of 40.01m just last weekend at the USSU Eagles Invitational.
In the men' triple jump, Nicholas Martin leaped 12.84 meters to eclipse
Sinaj Lynn's 2025 mark of 12.81m. Martin finished eighth in the event at the Strawberry Relays.
The third men's record came on he track in the 110-meter high hurdles.
Mikendall Morris hit then tape in a time of 15.51 seconds, erasing teammate
Cortland Earl's 2025 time of 15.60.
