Katlyn Duke enters her first season as a member of the Owls softball team.
Junior/Community College
Duke attended East Central Community College in Decatur, MS. The Philadelphia, MS native was a member of the Warriors softball team. She participated in the Elite Hitter National Tournament in 2015, received outstanding defense honors in 2015 and 2016, was given the hustle award in 2016, and was named All-State in 2016.
Because of her work off the field, she graduated with honors from ECCC and was inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa Honor society.
High School
Duke attended Neshoba Central High School in Philadelphia, MS. She was a member of the Rockets softball team and basketball team.
Because of her efforts on the field, she was named 2x fast pitch state champion, 2x slow pitch state champion, slow pitch pop star in 2014, 2013 slow pitch north 4A, 5A, and 6A MVP, 2012 most improved slow pitch, 2012 slow pitch best defense, 2012 and 2013 best offense slow pitch, 2011 fast pitch hustle award recipient, 2013 fast pitch rocket award recipient.
As a basketball player, she was given the 2012-13 best defense award, and 2013-14 best offense.
For both sports, Duke was named scholar athlete from 2011-2014 and received the Tim Chestnut Master Chief award for most outstanding athlete playing two sports and being active in the classroom and in the community.
Personal
Duke is the daughter of Michael Duke and Angela Davis. She has three siblings; Mallory Duke, Erink Heatchock, and Coby Maddox.
She enjoys chicken spaghetti, the movie "Pearl Harbor", and the song "Hall of Fame" by The Script featuring will.i.am.
Here at The W, she is studying kinesiology.
