Rachael Rooney enters her second season as a member of the Owls softball team.
Junior/Community College
Rooney attended East Mississippi Community College in Scooba, MS. She was a member of the Lions softball team. Because of her efforts on the field, Rooney started both years as catcher. Off the field, she received the Best Western Civilization average (2015-16).
High School
Rooney attended Tupelo High School in Tupelo, MS. She is a member of the basketball team and softball team. She was given the best offensive player award (2012-13), best defensive player award (2012-13), All-District team (2013-13), All-Region team (2013-14), best defensive player (2014-15), All-Division team (2014-15), and offensive player of the game for the Northeast Mississippi Softball Coaches Association (2015). She also received the highest GPA on the softball team during the 2013-14 season.
Personal
Rooney is the daughter of Ray and Jill Rooney and the sister of Caleste Reardon, Amber Rooney, and Zeke Rooney. She enjoys lasagna, the movie "The Shallows", and her favorite song is "Swish Swish" by Katy Perry.
She is studying physical therapy here at The W.
