The W Athletics

Heidi Matthews enters her second season as a member of the Owls softball team. 

Junior/Community College
Matthews attended University of South Carolina-Sumter where she was a member of the Fire Ant softball team. 

High School
Matthews attended The Carolina Academy in Lake City, SC. The Coward, SC native was a member of the Bobcats softball and basketball team. For her efforts on the softball field, she was named All-Region for three years, All-State for three years, and received the Miss. 'Bobcat' Award. 

In basketball, she was named region co-player and All-State basketball. 

Personal
Matthews is the daughter of William and Valarie Matthews and the sister of Kurtis Matthews. She enjoys fried chicken, the movie "How the Grinch Stole Christmas", and the song "9 to 5" by Dolly Parton. 

Here at The W, Matthews is studying secondary education with an emphasis in history.
