Nevels attended the University of South Carolina - Sumter in Sumter, SC.
High School
Nevels attended Thomas Sumter Academy. The Sumter, SC native was a member of the Generals softball, volleyball, basketball, and the track and field team. She was also a member of the Anchor Club, book club, student government, dance, and a Camp Kemo counselor.
As an athlete, she received the varsity softball offensive award ('11-12 and '12-13), the varsity softball defensive award ('12-13, '13-14, and '14-15), SCISA 2A state championship ('13-14), SCISA 3A championship ('14-15), SCISA All-State award ('14-15), All-Region first team ('12-13, '13-14, and '14-15), and the HSSR All-State softball award in 2015.
Personal
Nevels is the daughter of William and Tina Silvester and the sister of Mari-Doglas Nevels, Carmen Silvester, and Lizzie Silvester. She enjoys mac and cheese, the movie "Spiderman", and the song "That's What I Like" by Bruno Mars.
