MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Owls women's tennis team dropped its dual matches against Albany State University and Huntingdon College, 7-0 and 9-0, respectively,  on Saturday, Feb. 20 in the George S. Gibbs Tennis Center on the campus of Huntingdon College.

In its first match, The W took on host Huntingdon to fall 9-0. The Owls battled hard and saw competitive play from several new players on the team. Junior Emma Potter and freshman Maggie Taylor played well in their doubles competition, and first-year senior Jordan Havens showed promising results in her first-ever singles tennis match.

The Owls took on Albany State in the second match of the day and lost 7-0. Juniors Terraline Green and Kelly Williams were competitive in doubles, and freshman Karina Garcia started to shine in only her second tennis match.

The Owls will be back in action on Thursday, Feb. 25, when they host Blue Mountain College in their first home game of the season. The first serve is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
