COLUMBUS, Miss. – It was a rough week for the Owls women's tennis team with back-to-back losses to Martin Methodist College on Thursday on the road and Huntingdon College on its home courts on Friday.
Against Martin Methodist, The W was able to pick up its first two points of the season with
Terraline Green and
Karina Garcia picking up a point in the doubles competition and
Allison Topcik picking up a point in the singles competition due to forfeit. Despite having an early advantage, the Owls were unable to brining in any more points in the 7-2 loss in Decatur, Ala.

On Friday, the Owls hosted their first home game of the season against Huntingdon College at the Garrett Tennis Courts.
Jordan Havens was The W standout, picking up two points in her first set of the singles competition. The team played well but did not pick up any match points for the 9-0 loss.
