COLUMBUS, Miss. – The W volleyball team saw another defeat after falling 3-0 (25-15, 25-19, 25-11) to Martin Methodist College inside of Emma 'Ody' Pohl Gymnasium on Monday night. With the loss, MUW falls to 1-7 while Martin Methodist improves to 11-3.
Senior
Tori Weir led the way with five kills on 13 swings. Weir also added three digs and one block assist. Newcomer
Ricki-Jill Burrough also led the team in several categories, including three block assists, and trailed Weir with four kills.
Senior
Madison Lamon put up nine assists. She also added five digs and one service ace.
Defensively, freshman
Briana Huerta-Ramirez had her first double-digit dig total after posting 12.
Sophomore
Lacey Evans pitched in seven, and senior
Loren Schmitt added five.
The Owls will be back in action tomorrow, Tuesday, March 16, when they travel to Hanceville, Ala., to face Wallace State Community College in exhibition play and the University of West Florida in regular-season action. The first serve is scheduled for 1 p.m.
