LORMAN, Miss. – The W women's soccer team concluded its spring season late in the evening on Sunday, March 28, losing a physically-taxing game to Alcorn State University.
Megan Brown took the first shot attempt for the Owls in this evening's game, landing it out left.
Lizzie Truelock attempted the second shot and another one in the 14th minute. The Owls have not scored as many as two goals since defeating Belhaven University in a 2-0 matchup on March 16.
Alcorn rallied a goal to open the first half as Kiarra Colson took her turn, knocking one into the net in the 18th minute.
In the second half, Mireya Gonzalez performed a hat trick finding the goal off a penalty kick in the 45
th minute, a second goal with an assist from Emily Serrato in the 68
th minute, and a final goal in the 81
st minute from Rosalina Santoro to give Alcorn the 4-0 victory.
In the last three games,
Sarah Gilliland has continued to bring her A-game in the net. The senior played the entire 90 minutes and ended the matchup with nine saves and four goals.
