SHREVEPORT, La. – The W women's soccer fought tooth and nail with the Centenary Ladies but fell 3-0 in the tenth game of the season Tuesday night.
Hannah Helms,
Lindsey Moyle,
Lizzie Truelock, and
Leah Crabtree all took shots during the game but were unable to find the net's back.
Sarah Gilliland guarded the Owls goal, playing the entire 90 minutes for nine saves and three goals allowed.
Centenary would open the scoring in the first half, with Pamela Fonesca scoring in the 17th minute shooting directly in the net. Alexa Hinojosa scored the Ladies second goal on a penalty kick in, and just minutes before the end of regulation, Gabby McDonald scored the Ladies third and final goal to seal the win.
The W continued to weather the Ladies offensive efforts and did what they could to move the ball down the pitch, but the clock became the enemy in the game's final minutes.
The Owls will be on the road again for a matchup in Ellisville, Miss. on Thursday, March 11 at 2:00 p.m.
