Box Score TOCCOA FALLS, Ga. – For the second time in a four-day span, the Mississippi University for Women lost to a strong Toccoa Falls College squad, this time by an 81-51 margin on the road. The Owls fell to the Screaming Eagles (10-4), 75-39, last Saturday in Columbus.
The loss overshadowed quality games from The W tandem of
MG Chamberlain and
Conley Langford, both of whom eclipsed the 20-point barrier. Chamberlain led all scorers in the game by matching her MUW career high of 24 points (she also had 24 versus Crowley's Ridge on Jan. 15, 2022), on a 10-for-25 shooting night from the field. She also grabbed nine rebounds.
Langford notched her second double-double of 2022-23 and fifth game of 20 or more points, as well as her ninth double-figure scoring game in 12 outings. She hit 9-of-22 shots overall, including a team-best three treys made. Langford led all rebounders with 12 caroms.
Jas Patrick added four points and
Becca Owens two, as the only other Owls to score. Patrick and Owens garnered four and seven rebounds, respectively. Owens also dished off for two assists.
While sophomore guard
Hannah Duran was kept out of the scorebook, she did contribute team-leading numbers with five assists and two blocked shots.
The W will not have long to dwell on the setback, as it travels to Atlanta for a bout at Oglethorpe University on Wednesday (3 p.m. CT).
