COLUMBUS, Miss. – The W volleyball battled visiting Lyon College for five sets – including winning the first two - before eventually dropping a St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) match, 3-2. The Owls (4-15, 0-11 SLIAC) lost to the Scots (15-7, 5-4 SLIAC) by set scores of 22-25, 18-25, 25-19, 25-11, 15-10 at Pohl Gym.
While a loss is still a loss, the second meeting between the teams this season was a far cry from a 3-0 Lyon win back on October 1 on the Scots' home floor.
MC Brown led a trio of Owls with double-digit kill totals. Brown knocked down 16 kills in her 48 attempts. Brown also contributed nine digs and two blocks.
Amonie Silas added 11 kills, along with two blocks.
Madyson McBrayer had a double-double of 10 kills and 12 digs.
Senior setter
Hannah Duran also notched a double-double with a match-leading 33 assists and team-high 16 digs.
