COLUMBUS, Miss. – The W women's soccer lost a 6-0, non-conference, decision at home to Rhodes College on Tuesday afternoon at the Roger Short Soccer Complex. The Owls record dipped to 3-7-2 overall, while the Lyn improved to 7-2-0.
MUW found itself out-gunned by the Rhodes crew, which had 24 total players see action in the match. The Owls played with one sub, due to injuries and illness.
That fact contributed to a 38-to-1 shot attempts disparity between the teams. The Lynx put 27 shots directly on goal.
The result was a big afternoon by senior goalkeeper
Alex Moon (Poynton with Worth, England). MUW's English import set a school record by making 21 saves versus Rhodes. It was the second time this season that Moon has broken The W saves record, previously recording 19 on September 1 versus LaGrange.
MUW will next be in action on October 17 (5:30 p.m.) at Principia College in Elsah, Illinois.
