FULTON, Mo. – The No. 6-seed The W women's soccer team saw the curtain come down on its 2024 campaign in the first round of the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) championship tournament, with a 1-0 loss at No. 3-seeded Westminster College.  The Owls finish their season at 4-12-2 overall, while the Blue Jays move on to the SLIAC semi-finals with a record of 7-7-3.

MUW had upset Westminster by an identical 1-0 tally eight days ago in a regular season bout in Columbus.

The W was not only unable to entirely fend off the Blue Jays attack – that took 19 shots – but could not muster much offense of its own The Owls finished with just two total shot tries, none on goal.

Eight of WC's shot attempts were on frame, but the majority were thwarted by senior goalkeeper Alex Moon, who finished with seven saves. The 'Jays lone goal came in the 47th minute of play after a scoreless opening period by both sides.

It marked the second season in as many years as SLIAC members that the MUW team had qualified for the SLIAC post-season tourney.
