BATESVILLE, Ark. – The W men's golf completed the 36-hole Lyon College Scots Fall Invitational in fourth place in the final team standings, tallying an aggregate 608 (302-306). The Owls shared the clubhouse lead after day one, but fell off the pace when
Bryce Denley – who had carded a 69 in round one – suffered a shoulder injury during round two and was forced to withdraw.
MUW had a pair of top-10 finishes by Alexandre Thery, who finished in a three-way tie for fourth place, and
Nicklaus Ledbetter in a logjam for seventh place. Therry shot a four-over-par score of 75-73=148.
Ledbetter had a pedestrian round of 78 on Monday. But on Tuesday, he carded a nice one-under 71 for the finishing round and a final total of 149. Ledbetter was playing as an independent, so his scores, unfortunately, did not go toward MUW's team total.
Senior
Daniel Martin earned a top-20 result, tying for 16th place. Martin shot rounds of 77-75=152.
Collin Jones (81-75=156) was 28th, while
Narit Teeranontamongkol (83-81=164) and
Trace Novak (82-83=165) were 44th and 45th, respectively.
