Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Owls and Blackburn play to 0-0 draw

COLUMBUS, Miss. – The W women's soccer team battled Blackburn College to a 0-0 tie in a St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) match at the Roger Short Soccer Complex. The Owls are now 1-12-13 overall and 0-5-1 in the SLIAC, while the Beavers are 3-10-2 and 0-5-2 in conference.
 
The W held a 12-3 advantage in total shots attempted, including a 5-2 margin on-goal. MUW upped its game in the second half by outshooting the Beavers, 9-2, in the final 45 minutes.
 
Ella Mercier had three tries, putting two on frame. Avery Bartlett, Emma Hall, Abby Warchus, and Kimi Norway each had two shot attempts, with Bartlett and Norway each with one shot on-goal. Alison Ragoyta came off the bench to register her team's other shot on-goal.
 
MUW goalkeeper Cam Lopez registered her first shutout of 2025. Lopez had a pair of saves, as well.
 
The W will play its final home match of 2025 on Sunday (Oct. 26/11 a.m.) versus Eureka College. It will also be the Owls' Senior Day, with ceremonies taking place pre-game at the Short Soccer Complex.
