BATESVILLE, Ark – The W women's soccer season ended just as it had begun: with a one-goal loss on the road, this time in a St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) match at Lyon College, 1-0. The Owls close out 2025 at 1-13-4 (0-6-2 SLIAC), while the Scots improved to 3-8-3 (1-4-3 SLIAC)
The oh-so-close Owls had four ties this season, as well as a total of five matches lost by a single goal. A dozen or so timely shots and/or defensive efforts going MUW's way, would have changed the complexion of 2025.
As it played out, The W and Lyon battled each other to a scoreless bout until the host Scots netted the match's lone score at the 73:05 juncture of the contest. LC held a 16-to-4 cushion in total shot attempts for the afternoon.
Owls' goalkeeper
Cam Lopez turned away eight of the nine shots on-goal by the Scots. Lopez finished the year with a SLIAC-best 122 total saves, the second-most in a single season for MUW's program.
Senior
Kimi Norway closed out her four-year career with The W by taking two of her team's shots – both on-goal – versus Lyon. Fellow seniors
Ella Mercier (one shot on-goal) and defender
Anna McKee also played their final match as Owls against the Scots.
