GREENVILLE, Ill. – The W volleyball, the No. 4-seed in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) tournament, closed the books on a successful 2025 campaign with its loss to No. 2-seed Westminster College in the event's semifinals, 3-0. The Owls (11-21) were topped by the Blue Jays (28-7) by set scores of 25-21, 25-22, 25-19, at Greenville College's H.J. Long Gym.
MUW, which entered the bout with six-consecutive wins versus SLIAC foes, just could not muster an answer for high-flying Blue Jays (who defeated The W both meeting of the regular season, as well).
The Owls all-SLIAC duo of
Skye Letson and
Megan Neeb led the team's attack. Letson had 11 kills and a team-best .290 attack average, and also had three assisted blocks. Neeb chipped in 10 kills, seven digs, and two aces.
Freshman
Sydney Barrett had three blocks and five kills on her ledger.
Madyson McBrayer notched four kills and eight digs.
Junior setter
Kinsley Kennedy had 30 of her team's 31 assists in the match. Sophomore libero
Brooklyn Comfort's 16 digs led the backrow players.
Head coach
Breylee Linder's team was making its first-ever SLIAC post-season appearance, winning its quarterfinal match versus Blackburn to reach the semifinals. Linder's lineup graduates just three seniors and all nine players who saw action in the SLIAC semis are eligible to return in 2026, as the program looks to continue its upward trend.
