LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. - The W volleyball lost a pair of non-conference matches in a tri-match on the road, to close out its 2025 regular season. The Owls (10-20) fell to both Maryville College, 3-2 (25-23 22-25, 24-26, 25-18, 15-12), and to host Covenant College, 3-0 (25-20, 25-16, 25-23).
(Maryville and Covenant both are tied for second place in the Collegiate Conference of the South volleyball standings).
MUW will now await the pairings announcement on Sunday for the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) post-season tournament. The Owls finished in a three-way tie for third place in the final SLIAC standings, at 7-7 in league play. Six teams make the tourney, with tie-breaking criteria applied to determine the official seeding.
Versus Maryville (23-7), the Owls were led by its talented trio of front row players:
Skye Letson,
Madyson McBrayer, and
Megan Neeb. Each managed to book 16 kills, apiece, to account for 92 percent of MUW's total kills (52) in the match. Neeb and McBrayer had 10 and nine digs, respectively, with Letson making three blocks on the defensive side.
Freshman
Sydney Barrett and sophomore
Avery Watts each had four blocks to lead the Owls. Watts also had a pair of aces.
Libero
Brooklyn Comfort made 32 digs, while setter
Kinsley Kennedy posted 42 assists.
Bailee Schmitt added three service aces and eight digs.
Against Covenant, Neeb had a double-double of 13 kills and 10 digs. Letson contributed nine kills and McBrayer six, with Letson notching three blocks, as well.
Watts had another four-block match, with Barrett making three blocks. Comfort led the back row with 25 digs, while Kennedy had 29 of MUW's 30 assists on her ledger.
