UNION GROVE, Ala. – The W men's golf opened the 2025-26 season with a third-place finish at the Roger Lundy Alabama Invasion, hosted by Spalding University. The Owls shot a 36-hole total (the final 18 holes were cancelled due to weather) of 620, trailing only fellow St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) members Lyon College (587) and host Spalding (618).
The Invasion was the first test for Head Coach
Benji Williams roster that returned just one player from its back-to-back SLIAC champion, and NCAA III national tournament participant, teams and two veterans, overall.
Newcomer
Bryce Denley led MUW by posting a 76-78=154, good for a ninth-place tie. A trio of first-year Owls –
Collin Jones (82-73),
Nicklaus Ledbetter (79-76), and Alexandre Thery (74-81) – all knotted for 13th place with totals of 155.
Junior
Cameron James – who was a part of both SLIAC and NCAA rosters – tied for 19th place with scores of 81-77-158. Freshman
Trace Novak (78-81=159) tied for 23rd and sophomore returnee Danial Martin (84-79=163) tied for 26th.
Narit Teeranontamongkol rounded out the MUW players in 33rd (84-87=171).
