COLUMBUS, Miss. – The W's Malachi Morgan has been selected as the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) men's track and field Player of the Week for field events, it has been announced.
Morgan, a freshman from Decatur, Mississippi (Austin H.S.), posted three school records in the Owls' pair of meets last weekend, both at the CrossPlex in Birmingham, Alabama. At Saturday's Samford University Open, Morgan notched new MUW marks in both long jump (6.58 meters) and the high jump (1.89 meters). Both were also the No. 1 efforts on the SLIAC's performance list, as well.
On Sunday, in the KMS Invitational, Morgan ran the lead leg for the Owls' 4x200-meter relay quartet (along with teammates Bryson Boler, Cortland Earl, and Kobe Smith). The group finished the race at 1:33.44 minutes.
