EUREKA, Ill. – Fifth-year senior
Conley Langford poured in a season-high 31 points to lead The W women's basketball to an 88-61 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletics Conference (SLIAC) win at Eureka College. It was the second conference victory in a row for the Owls (3-10, 2-3 SLIAC).
Langford finished with her fifth double-double of the season – and school record 21st of her career – by also pulling down 15 rebounds. Langford had 23 of her points in the first half, alone. She would finish by shooting 12-for-22 from the floor, including 5-of-12 from beyond the arc.
Fellow senior
Calysia Phillips had a good shooting effort, as well, hitting 5-of-12 from the field and 4-for-11 from long range. Phillips doled out four assists and made a pair of steals, as well.
Mia Bowen and
Jessica Hughes both chipped in 11 points to round out the quartet of Owls with double figure points for the evening. Bowen added six blocked shots to get her season total to 48, tied for the NCAA III national lead. She also had seven rebounds and two assists.
Hughes connected on 4-of-7 shots, 3-of-6 from three-point range, off of the MUW bench.
Fantasia Wilson bested The W modern era record for assists in a game, dishing off 12 helps versus the Red Devils. Wilson eclipsed the previous standard of 11 assists, set by teammate Phillips in 2024-25. Wilson managed a game-high six steals, while also snaring five rebounds.
MUW forced Eureka into 15 turnovers, which the guests converted into 31 points.
The W will look to extend its SLIAC win skein on Saturday afternoon at Blackburn College. Tipoff in Carlinville, Illinois, is set for 1 p.m.
