COLUMBUS, Miss. – The W Athletics will be hosting its 4th annual Hoot & Hoops night on Thursday, October 29, in Pohl Gym. The event – which combines safe trick-or-treating (for children 12 and under) with a chance to meet the Owls basketball teams – runs from 5-7:30 p.m.
 
The night begins with trick-or-treat time from 5-6 p.m., starting in the Pohl Gym lobby. Upwards of 30 tables will be staffed by MUW student-athletes, staff, organizations, and community groups. This is a great opportunity to get an extra day of use out of the little ones' Halloween costumes!
 
At 6 p.m., in the main gym, the 2026-27 women's and men's teams will be introduced. That will be followed by several contests for fans, as well as skill challenges for Owls' players. The evening will cap off with live scrimmages by both teams.
