EDINBURGH, Ind. - The W women's golf posted record-setting results, as it earned a runner-up finish at the 2026 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) championships, October 4-6, at the Timbergate Golf Club. The Owls finished behind only 8-time SLIAC champion Grinnell College.
"I was very proud of the effort put forth by our team," MUW Head Coach
Benji Williams said. "I thought that we did a good job of playing our game and not worrying about what the other teams were doing. That resulted in some very consistent numbers for our players, up and down the lineup."
Those "consistent numbers" Williams alluded to resulted in all five scoring players for the Owls earning an All-SLIAC finish. Seniors
Ashley Estabrook (78-80-78=236) and
Addi Campbell (77-79-80=236) both earned first team All-SLIAC recognition by tying for sixth place.
Their 236 composite scores also set the school record for best 54-hole score by an individual (the previous record was a 240 total).
Three MUW players were second team All-SLIAC placers, as well. Newcomer
Reagan Darden (80-82-82=244) finished 10th in the final standings. Teammates Isabel Velasquez (83-84-85=252) and
Lindsey Reimsnyder (83-85-85=253) finished in 12th and 13th place, respectively.
Sophomore
Reagan Hammack – playing as an independent – had her best tournament with MUW. Hammack carded scores of 107-93-97=291, finishing in a tie for 24th, overall.
Velasquez was also recognized on the SLIAC's All-Sportsmanship team, as well.
As a team, The W posted scores of 318-325-325=968 for the tournament. That set the school record for best 54-hole team score, by 17 shots (previous was 985, at the 2025 SLIAC championships). The opening round of 318 is also the second-lowest single round ever recorded in program history. All three of the Owls scores each day at the 2026 SLIAC championships, rank among the top-5 team sngle-lowest rounds ever recorded in school history.
