COLUMBUS, Miss. – Senior Mia Bowen notched the first-ever triple-double game in the women's basketball program's modern era, but it was not enough to prevent a 67-52 loss to Westminster College in a St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) matchup at Pohl Gym. The Owls fell to 6-17 (5-10 SLIAC), while the Bluejays improved to 9-14 (9-6 SLIAC).  
 
MUW willc lose out its season on Saturday (Feb. 21/1 p.m.) at home versus Webster College, with its annual Senior Day festivities, as well. Bowen, Conley Langford, and Calysia Phillips will be honored in pre-game ceremonies.
 
In spite of the loss, Bowen gave the home crowd a performance to remember.  Bowen, who entered the game as the nation's No. 2 shot blocker, broke her own MUW single-game record with 10 swats versus Westminster (upping her season total to 95 rejections). That, coupled with her 13 points and 20 rebounds, added up to the Owls first-ever triple-double effort.
 
Langford actually led MUW in scoring with 14 points. After hitting just 1-of-10 in the first half, Langford heated up in the second, booking 12 of her points and shooting 5-for-6 from the floor in the final 20 minutes. She had a game-high four steals, as well.
 
Langford made some history of her own in the game. With 1:51 left in the third quarter, Langford's layup gave the senior 1,500 points for her MUW career, where she already owns virtually every career mark on the books.
 
Freshman guard Jakayla Smith was the third Owl in double-digit points, with 11. Smith hit 5-of-11 from the floor.
