COLUMBUS, Miss. -The W women's basketball dynamic duo of senior Mia Bowen (Buena Vista, Miss.) and Conley Langford (Calhoun City, Miss.) were both selected St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) all-conference members by the league's coaches. Bowen was a first-team selection, while Langford was a second-team all-SLIAC pick.

Additionally, Bowen was recognized on the SLIAC All-Defensive Team and voted the Defensive Player of the Year in the circuit. Junior teammate Fantasia Wilson (Tuscaloosa, Ala.) was named to the SLIAC All-Sportsmanship Team.

"I'm definitely happy for both Mia and Conley," MUW Head Coach Eric Vaughn said. "Both were very deserving of the awards they received. It's not every day a school at this level gets a talent like Mia Bowen. She had the best year of her career, both on the court and off the court. Conley Langford represents an athlete who got the most out of her talent, both on the court and in the classroom."

Bowen, a senior transfer to The W, found a home on the Columbus campus after previously playing at Itawamba Community College and at NCAA Division I University of Arkansas-Little Rock. And what a year it was for Bowen.

Bowen finished the regular season as the NCAA Division III national leader in blocked shots per game, at 4.2 bpg. She owns the MUW school record for blocks in a game (10), as well as in a season and career (both at 100). 

Additionally, Bowen led the MUW team in scoring (17.6 ppg) and rebounds (10.3 rpg). She shot 42 percent from the floor and 70 percent from the free-throw line. 

Langford capped her storied Owls' career with her third consecutive All-SLIAC recognition. In her final season, Langford averaged 15.8 points, 7.8 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 2.7 per game. She finished her time at The W with 22 school records, including career points scored (1,522) and career rebounds (704).

Langford was the prototype NCAA III student-athlete for The W, combining her athletic prowess with classroom success. Langford is a 4.0 student, majoring in Biology, earning three SLIAC All-Academic, two Academic All-District, and a pair of national all-academic accolades, as well.

Wilson, a junior transfer, had a nice first season with the Owls. Wilson started all 22 games played, averaging 7.5 points and 5.2 rebounds per game. She was No. 3 in the SLIAC for assists (3.5 apg), No. 4 in assist-to-turnover ratio (plus 0.8), and No. 2 in steals (3.0 spg).
