COLUMBUS, Miss. - The W Athletics has released its 2026 Spring Athletic Director's Honor Roll, with a total of 119 honors being accorded to student-athletes. To make the A.D.'s Honor Roll, members of the Owls' 15 sports rosters needed a minimum 3.00 grade point average (GPA) for the recently completed term.
"I congratulate all of those earning a spot on the A.D. Honor Roll for this past term," MUW Director of Athletics Buddy Foster said. "It truly says a lot about the type of student-athletes we have here at The W; getting it done in the classroom and in competition."
A total of 68 percent of those on MUW's intercollegiate rosters earned a spot on the A.D.'s Honor Roll for the spring. Seven of those recognized were two-sport athletes. (Indoor and outdoor track & field are calculated as one sport, thus the 15 total rosters).
There were a total of 89 GPAs of 3.50 or better, representing 75 percent of those on the Honor Roll and 51 percent of all of The W's student-athlete population. An impressive 35 term GPA's of 4.0 were achieved in the spring, 29 percent of those on the Honor Roll and 20 percent of all MUW student-athletes.
As a department, Owls Athletics amassed a 3.16 GPA for Spring 2026. Nine of the 15 programs had team GPAs of 3.00 or better. Women's Golf led the way with a 3.88 GPA, with Men's Soccer (3.55) topping male sports. The nine teams that exceeded term GPAs of 3.00 were, in order: Women's Golf (3.88), Volleyball (3.77), Women's Cross Country (3.67), Women's Soccer (3.55), Men's Soccer (3.47), Baseball (3.42), Softball (3.36), Men's Golf (3.27), and Women's Basketball (3.22).
The W Baseball team had the most honorees, with 30 of its 35-member roster (86 percent) making the 2026 Spring A.D. Honor Roll. Women's Soccer had the second-best total of 11 of its 12 players cited, an amazing 92 percent of its roster.
