MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The W's cross country teams both competed at the Rhode Invitational on Saturday, at the Shelby Farms course. The Owls' men were ninth and the women finished 10th.
In the men's eight-kilometer race, MUW was led by sophomore
Jarvis Sellers. Sellers completed the course in a clocking of 30:05.90 minutes, good for 35th place in the 77-runner field.
Christian Chipilipili was 57th in a time of 35:30.60, followed by
Noel Kellum in 64th (37:09.31). I'
Monn Hill (42:17.90) and
Trevor Davis (49:29.20) rounded out the Owls' men's runners.
In the women's 5-kilometer race, senior
Hannah Owens topped The W by finishing in a time of 22:04.50 minutes. That put Owens in 30th place in the 87-runner field.
Brianna Brown was the second MUW women's finisher, crossing the line at 27:56.30 in 76th place. Brown was followed by
Cassidy Talley at 30:28.50,
Kamiyah Whiting at 34:50.90, and
Ketu'rah Johnson at 35:23.50.
