Murphy attended Shannon High School in Shannon, MS. There, he was a member of the Raiders baseball team.
Because of his efforts on the field, Murphy received the hustle award, named best defensive player, MVP, and was named to the all-division team.
Personal
Murphy is the son of Brad and Tricia Murphy and the brother of Ryan Murphy.
He enjoys mac-n-cheese, the movie "We Are Marshall", and the song "Imagination" by Shawn Mendes.
