Jose Ortiz enters his first season as a member of the Owls baseball team. 

High School
Ortiz attended Baker High School in Mobile, Ala. There, he was member of the Hornet baseball team and the National Honor society. As an athlete, he was named pitcher of the year.

Ortiz is the son of Carol and Jose. He has three siblings; Victoria, Jeremiah, and Jaden.
