YEARS AS THE W HEAD COACH IN 2023-24: 3rd

Halee Hensley was named as The W head coach before the 2021 season. Hensley also coordinates the Owls' Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) program.

Hensley, a native of Mayflower, Arkansas, spent the previous two seasons (2019-20) as head coach at Hannibal-LaGrange University, an NAIA school in Hannibal, Missouri. She also worked as an assistant in the athletic department and served as the director of the Mabee Sports Complex, the school’s all-purpose indoor sports facility.

The W's 2022 season resulted in marked improvement at 8-17. The Owls' team also qualified for the USCAA championship tournament. The team had a pair of USCAA All-Americans in Maddy Suggs (1st team) and Maggie Griggs (2nd team). The W volleyball also garnered 12 USCAA All-Academic Team honorees.

In 2021, after taking the coaching reins just prior to the beginning of the season, the Owls went 1-18 but showed steady improvement during the campaign. Hensley's squad was a pillar in the classroom, earning seven USCAA All-Academic Team selections. As a team, The W posted a 3.74 grade point average in the Spring of 2022.

Hensley served as a volunteer assistant coach at Hendrix College, an NCAA Division III school in Conway, Arkansas, in 2018. She was involved with practice plans, travel arrangements, itineraries, individual workouts, recruiting, and scouting. Hensley helped the program go from a 13-17 record in 2017 to a 20-8 mark (10-4 in the Southern Athletic Association) in 2018.

Hensley also served as a student assistant coach at Central Baptist College, an NAIA school in Conway, Arkansas, in 2017, while she completed her bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology-Exercise Science.

Hensley was a defensive specialist and outside hitter during her playing career at CBC (2012-16). During that time, Hensley also coached 14- to 18-year-olds in the HollenBall Juniors volleyball program. In 2014, she also coached at what is now known as Arkansas Preparatory High School in Little Rock, Arkansas.
