Women's Soccer Drop Match Against Centenary, 4-0

COLUMBUS, MS –  The W women's soccer team lost its match to Centenary College, 4-0, on Monday afternoon at the Columbus Soccer Complex. The Owls move to a 0-5 record in 2021, while the Ladies move to a 3-0 record.

The Ladies started the game on fire, landing the first goal of the game in the 1st minute and a second in the 6th minute, giving them a 2-0 lead.

Adrianna Parsons had a chance to put the Owls on the board in the 33rd minute, taking a shot. The freshman from Springdale sent the shot wide and right, but it flew to the side of the crossbar.

Caitlyn Fox recorded six saves in the contest, for 17 saves on the season. The freshman goalkeeper allowed Centenary two goals, giving the Ladies a 3-0 advantage in the 71st minute and another in the 82nd minute, putting the Ladies at 4-0.
Senior keeper Sarah Gilliland was credited with the loss, playing the first seven minutes of the game for two goals allowed and one save.

The W women's soccer will be on the road for the next game. They will be traveling to Maryville, TN, on Thursday, Feb. 25, for a match against Maryville College at 1 p.m.
