Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men's Soccer Drops Friday's Match, 10-2

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Owls men's soccer team was unlucky again on the road, dropping its second match of the week to Birmingham Southern College, 10-2, Friday evening.

The W created five opportunities to score during the match but was only able to capitalize on two as it struggled to extend its time on the ball's offensive side.

Finding themselves down 6-0, Asahel Salgado scored the Owls first goal off of a penalty kick in the 53rd minute. Senior forward Josh Martin added the second 20 minutes later, unassisted, to cut the Panthers lead to 6-2.

Despite their best effort, the Owls were unable to stop BSC from scoring, and the Panthers added four more goals before the game's close.

Receiving his second loss of the season, John McGee played the entire 90 minutes to allow 10 goals with nine saves.

The W men's soccer team will be back in action on Friday, March 26, when it travels to Sewanee, Tenn. to face Sewanee: The University of the South. Kick-off is set for 5 p.m.
